Is it really Oh-Oh-Seven years now since The Brozza’s swan song in Die Another Day?
Some fans, actually a surprising number of fans, really regret DC’s entry to the Bond role. I get e-mails from them, swearing they have bought no merchandise, not even a DVD at Wal-Mart from the Daniel Craig era.
Pierce had some great moments and some cheesy ones, but where do you stack him against Daniel?

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackI think DC is maybe ,yes maybe the best, this is coming from someone from the Connery era (Goldfinger)(happy bithday Sean (8/25),,he is a damn good actor and has portrayed Flemings Bond the best since Dalton,Brosnan was great for his time, welcome to the 21st Century
DC is a great Bond. Brosnan wasn’t a bad Bond; he unfortunately was in some bad Bond films. Compared to DC though Brosnan is a foppish schoolboy. In some ways I compare Brosnan’s Bond to Moore (who I really don’t care for) against Connery’s Bond of which DC has flashes. In many respects, outside of the outrageous acrobatic and superhero flourishes reminiscent of the Bourne films, DC’s Bond is more like Fleming’s than we have seen in quite some time. Overall I like DC far better than Brosnan.
Craig is a talented actor, and has done well with the material he’s been given, but either the Broccoli family has forgotten there is such a thing as “humor,” or Craig is too dark. I’m not inclined to blame the actor for this, but who knows?
Brosnan was capable of doing some very deep work, but also of having a light touch. People forget that Connery invented the “death quip.” It’s not all about being dark & scary.
I adore Casino Royale; it’s in my top five, but then, so is Goldeneye. In terms of the performances delivered by each man, at this point, I rate Brosnan higher. I think Craig is capable of giving us everything that Brosnan gave, but so far he hasn’t done so.
Daniel Craig does give us some humor, after all even LeChiffre said,”Your a funny man Mr Bond”
Brosnan was not my favorite. I rate him 4/6 and I place Craig at 3/6.
I saw the (not recommended) movie Law Abiding Citizen this weekend and it occurred to me Gerard Butler would make a suitable replacement should DC leave. He’s Scottish (Sean Connery anyone), dark and hunky–and looks good in a suit. He has nice flair for comedy too I believe. The major strike against is that he is currently 40–too old to start a career as Bond.
