In May, we learned that pre-production had begun on the next Bond movie. Now Variety tells us that the scriptwriting team is in place, with a tentative 2011 release.
Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli of EON Productions and MGM are moving forward on the next 007 installment, hiring “Frost/Nixon” scribe Peter Morgan, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade to write the script for the 23rd James Bond film.
Purvis and Wade most recently worked on “Quantum of Solace” and “Casino Royale.”
Daniel Craig is already set to reprise his role as 007, and Wilson and Broccoli are producing. No start date has yet been set, but sources said EON and MGM are eyeing a 2011 release.

I’m just happy that Haggis doesn’t have anything to do with it, nor, and especially, Marc Forster.
Forster because, since he never directed an action film before, always came off as sounding laissez faire about the whole QoS, that, for the massive bucks “they threw my way, I’d entertain the idea and kinda, sorta, do the best job I can and string together some action set pieces, but really, yawn, I’d much rather get back to making really well made dramas that no one watches…”
Not his fault, really. Would anyone else turn down the cash Barb and Michael tossed his way?
But it became his fault when he left the directing of all action sequences up to his stunt co-ordinator (an old Bourne employee).
And, since 90% of the film is all action, what exactly did Forster direct?
Haggis is better as a polisher– like he supposedly was on Royale.
But, notice he got head writing credits this time ’round?
He’s another guy, never done action in his life (other than a few episodes of Facts of Life where he tried to make George Clooney appear animated. And alive), who collects a $5 million check, to write garbage with a splash of his latent anti-Americanism?
Not his fault. Barabara hired a guy who’s firmly entrenched with political- left elitism who has never written an action film in his life.
I can take the hits at the US, if he could only write a sensical script that went along with it– like the first Bourne film.
But, I think, even dating back to Cubby’s days, left or right, he kinda wanted to Bond to stay out of the political theater.
It is, after all, make-belief and fantasy.
But, in QoS we have Bond lecturing the US and M, about the US and their intents, and oil and- blah- blah- blah– don’t we have enough of this in real life?
That’s the long and short of my rant, anticipating that they let Purvis and Wade do their thing (like in CR) and a seasoned dramatist cleans it up with some character gravitas (like Haggis in CR).
Haggis did some fine polishing, as did others. Read the original CR (or DAD or TWINE) Purvis and Wade to see the polishing.
Forster did some strange things but also brought in an outstanding cinematography and set design team for QoS. There were some exceptional happenings in the film IMO.

Dear Sirs,
I just wanted to share with you that EON Productions is currently in negotiations with actress/TV Presenter, Brianna Meighan, to play James Bond’s love interest in the next instalment of Bond 23.
Brianna Meighan caught the eye of executive producer’s Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli in February 2008 while filming Quantum of Solace on location in the Republic of Panama. Brianna was cast in franchise’s 22nd film as the “mayor’s wife” for the “party scene” which was shot over a period of two weeks in Panama City, Panama which doubled as a Bolivian location.
Until recently, I had been working as a casting assistant and had the privilege of coordinating numerous tele-conferences regarding Brianna and the Bond Girl role. I would prefer to remain completely anonymous as I still have colleagues working on the pre-production of Bond23. Attached is a link to her reel.
