Bond meets a woman who is a Greene insider. She is right next to the man he’s trying to find out about, the man he believes is connected to White.
Not only is she a great source, but she’s a natural ally. She’s just found out that Greene has been plotting to kill her, so her loyalties must shift. Bond is perfectly placed to be the new recipient of those loyalties.
Then she’s knocked unconscious, and he can easily help her, rescue her, and get on her good side. She’s the perfect source, everything a spy needs.
So what does he do? Dump her.

I think he dumped her because he still hasnt learned to rely on others so he wants to do things on his own.
He only rescued her because he knew she was in danger (he found the gun in the briefcase).

Interesting opportunity you pick up on. I thought it was a case of Bond in tunnel vision mode, focusing in on the objective, discarding anything that he deems superflous or in his way, and leaving a trail of wreakage in his path. Your’re right, he should have brought her along to the Opera!
It’s an insightful question you pose, but there is more to the story.
Camille was not a willing ally–Bond learns later in the dams of Bolivia why she fought him off when he “rescued her” from murdering General Madrano. Seeing Greene palm her to Medrano, Bond and the audience can see she will not help much with Greene or the [Quantum] organization. Bond deduced it was Greene who ordered Camille hit a few minutes before!
Camille might still have seemed a great resource for information at the docks–yet Bond saw her mistreated by Medrano and Greene, had already ID’d Greene although MI-6 told him more after the boat chase (who the name was with the face on his phone)–and when the rescue of Camille went unappreciated by her, Bond left her safe ashore before pursuing Greene’s CIA-operated flight to the Opera.
He wanted Greene or even who Greene works for/Quantum/Vesper’s killer/more information/tracing the Le Chiffre and White missing $150 Million.
In a sense, Camille was a stepping stone to Greene but would also have made unconscious weight aboard the charter flight Bond took to Europe.
QOS makes total sense as far as plot and continuity, so much so that it ranks among the MOST logical of Bond plots–with the least gaffs–but it all happens so fast that we both despise some of the film editing and admire 007 for being a great and speedy sleuth.
I enjoy QOS more and more I watch it (007 times),I think Bond got much information from Greene on there trip to the desert,Greene even says I gave you all the information you wanted,,so keeping Camille around was not needed,,,,anyway,,the bitch is gone..
