I didn't particular like Live and Let Die myself, but I have to admit that it wasn't until I read this blog that I realized that how they depicted New York in it added to my dislike for that "volume" of James Bond. If there were any movie that I think could have done with some New York scenes was the first one Dr. No. Remember how he went to Jamaica to find him after killing a "00" agent? Forget Jamaica, the entire sequence would have done justice to the movie if it were filmed in NY. Why would anyone go to a designated 3rd world country in order to obtain information regarding U.S. missiles? It would have made much more sense to base that part of it in the states instead of where they chose. I suppose there is nothing one can do about it now (unless they decide to do a re-make), but that's neither here nor there. Thanks for the post: It definitely pulled me in. Take care.

I meant to include something about BCW 7 in this post, but as you see, it got pretty long without it. There were certainly good spots to visit for the location-hunter—most, but not all, literary.

But we hit some good locations at BCW 7 in NYC, I thought--there is a lot of good Fleming Bond, just not shown in the film. Maybe NYC could be redeemed in a future Bond epic?

Awesome post! Thanks for participating.

I haven't seen Live and Let Die in many years, but I didn't find it particularly memorable (other than Paul McCartney's song, of course). In fact, I had forgotten Bond even goes to NY in this one. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure the spies on Alias never went to NYC either. Maybe New York's just not much of a spy town.
