Officials in the Italian resort of Lake Garda say a stuntman was gravely injured in a car crash while filming the new James Bond film.A spokesman for the northern town of Limone sul Garda says the stuntman suffered serious head injuries when he and another stuntman crashed during a car chase sequence on a winding lakeside road.
Marco Girardi says the stuntman underwent surgery in a hospital in nearby Verona. He said Thursday that the second stuntman was only slightly injured.
The accident occurred on the last day of filming at the lake Wednesday.
Our thoughts are with the injured men.
It is the second accident on the Italian set of “Quantum of Solace.” On Saturday an Aston Martin went off the road while being delivered to the set and plunged into Lake Garda.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackIt is so unfortunate to hear of such a grave accident especially on such a famed franchise as Bond, my thoughts go out to the stuntman involved and his family. Needless to say it appears it was only a matter of time with the safety record of the stunt coordinator currently being used. While I think what he does looks great I have it from a direct source that he has had a major injury on 90% of the films he has coordinated and has little respect for the safety of his stuntman. I am sure in these modern times one can achieve such great looking and thrilling stunts with a higher level of safety than what appears to be the case here.
Films are all about entertainment and creating the illusion, does this person have to kill somebody before anyone takes notice of his safety record???
This is just an awful and untrue slur. I can vouch for the dedication to safety and the utmost measures taken to ensure that the Bond Stunt avoid accidents.
