Cinema Retro said something that gave me pause:

The Bond films have not usually been fertile ground for method actors, given their history of concentrating on gags, gagets and special effects.

I beg to differ! Perhaps they don’t realize that Pierce Brosnan is a method actor, because he doesn’t partake in Pacino-like histrionics, but he’s the real deal. Timothy Dalton is also a method actor if no small repute. During an interview with Cinema Retro’s Lee Pfeiffer, Robert Davi talked about how he, Benicio del Toro, and Timothy Dalton were all method actors, and enjoyed working together on Licence to Kill.

The Roger Moore era was bad for method actors, but that era is far behind us.
