My Top 8 are all pretty close and somewhat interchangeable. There is a big gap between 8 and 9. FRWL is probably the highest quality Bond film but its entertainment value has diminshed somwhat for me.
Very, very good list on the first one though i think For you Eyes only shuld be replaced with Goldeneye in my view
Well, these are statistics, not my personal opinion. GoldenEye is certainly in my personal top five.
How did one get to vote on this? I do find it rather silly that the most recent Bond outing is #1. How long do you think it will be before it falls slightly to a more reasonable position?
Zippertuck, I used surveys published on Bond fansites like Commander Bond. I collated several hundred lists of people’s Bond film rankings (1-21 usually, but sometimes just top five). Combing the Internet and collating the data took weeks and weeks.
I then gave the top five weighted points, so that if a film was picked as #1, I gave it 5 points, as #2, I gave it 4 points, and so on. No points below a rank of five. So the first list are the top point-getters from that.
CR did so amazingly well because even though it didn’t end up as everyone’s #1, it was in more than half of top fives.
The second list is from a survey on the IMDb in which a user could vote for only one movie as a favorite. I think there are flaws with that method, but then, 11,000 responses is more than I can gather on my own.
I agree that a decade will change a lot of opinions.
You do a very good job collecting statistics
Hey, Joe, sorry you ended up in the spam filter folder.
Two of your favorites (LALD and MR) are in my bottom five, but I find that any two fans who compare their lists will find something like that.
So Deborah where is your list? would love to know how you rate the films.
